Potassium Sulphate

Potassium sulphate  is next to potassium chloride the most common potassium nutrient used in crop nutrition.

Potassium sulphate also called Potassium Sulfate /Sulphate of Potash(SOP) is a water soluble, white and crystalline salt. The mineral form arcanite is relatively rare. The main resources for SOP are found in combination with other mineral sulfates, such as magnesium, sodium and calcium. Another way of producing SOP is a combination of potassium chloride and kieserite. Most common forms of manufacture are from potassium chloride through a synthetic reaction with sulfuric acid or sulfur dioxide. Potassium sulphate contains between 50-52% of K2O and approx. 18% of sulphur which is a needed element in plant growth and deficiant in many soils. Otherwise than Sulphate of Potash (SOP) does not contain any chlorides, which can be harmful to some crops like tobacco, fruits and vegetable.

Potassium sulfate is a chlorine free, high quality and efficient fertilizer, especially in tobacco, grapes, tea, potatoes, sugar beet, flax and various fruit  tress to chlorine sensitive crops in planting, fertilizer  is an important and indispensable, it is also  the main raw material of high quality NPK compound fertilizer three yuan.

In agriculture: Potassium sulfate is a commonly used potash fertilizer in agriculture, and its potassium content is about 50%.

In industry: Potassium sulfate is a basic raw material for producing various potassium salts such as potassium carbonate and potassium persulfate.

The glass industry is used as a sinking agent.

The dye industry is used as an intermediate.

Spice industry used as additives.

Potassium sulfate is used as an additive in electroplating, acting as a conductive salt and as an aid.

In food industry: The food industry is used as a general additive.
