Today is a special festival-the winter solstice in China
The Winter Solstice, also known as Winter Festival and Ya Sui, is not only an important solar term in the twenty-four solar terms, but also a traditional Chinese folk festival. Many places have the custom of eating dumplings during the winter solstice. This custom is to commemorate the benevolence of the medical saint Zhang Zhongjing. When Zhang Zhongjing told the old man to return home, it was the winter of the university. He saw that the villagers in Nanyang were suffering from freezing and starvation, and many of them had their ears broken. So he set up a medical shed, cooked the lamb, pepper and some anti-cold medicinal materials in a pot, took them out and chopped them to make fillings, and then used dough to make ears. He put the "ears" in the pot and cooked them. Cooked, made into "Quhan Jiao Er Tang" charity for the folks to eat. After eating, people drank "Quhantang", the whole body was warm, and the frostbite ears were healed. Later generations learned the "Jiaoer" look and wrapped them into food, called dumplings.
